ADOPT A STURGEONYou can play a role in restoration of sturgeon in the Chesapeake Bay and other estuaries across the United State by adopting a sturgeon at the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science Horn Point Laboratory. Your donation helps our sturgeon experts further research into restoring this charismatic species. Currently, the laboratory houses more than 100 adult sturgeon and is working to expand its capability to house more fish in hopes of jumpstarting their numbers in the Bay. Similar to the way the Laboratory’s research relies on small and large sturgeon, advancements in sturgeon research rely on small and large donors. While it costs more than $1,000 to maintain each fish per year, your tax deductible contribution can go a long way toward helping bring back sturgeon to the Bay. Please help us continue our work by adopting a fish for a week, a month, a year or what ever you can contribute. Please make checks payable to: The University System of Maryland Foundation and send along with contact information (name, address and e-mail) to: |
